Due to excessive vandalism at and around the Huis van Wester, it is unfortunately not possible to safely proceed with the VLOED Experience Route. Therefore, the Experience Route has been canceled. The safety of our visitors and everyone involved is our top priority. Tickets are no longer available for booking. We will, of course, refund the payment for any tickets already booked and any rental bikes as soon as possible.
VLOED is a festival in motion. Not from a chair, but on the move, you will discover how water shapes Zandvoort. At Het Huis van Wester, in the middle of the Waterleidingduinen — where fresh dune water is filtered into drinking water — visual theater makers DeJong&DeWitte invite you to make the crossing: from solid ground to liquid. Physically and mentally.
During this experiential route with sound, images, and narrative interventions, DeJong&DeWitte make the tension between control and movement tangible. It slows you down, opens you up, and reconnects you with the water that flows beneath our feet and sustains us every day.
At the Huis van Wester — where time seems to stand still — you can hear the water: dripping, flowing, evaporating, crackling, and singing.
This route is made possible in part by Waternet.

Report to the starting point within your chosen time slot. There, you can start the art experience at your own pace. The experience takes place in the Waterleidingduinen around the Huis van Wester; walking time from the starting point is approximately 9 minutes. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
The experience route has limited accessibility for wheelchair users and mobility scooters. However, we are willing to find a suitable solution for everyone. Please email us at: toegankelijkheid@festivalvloed.nl.
For almost two decades, DeJong&DeWitte have been creating innovative performances that blend theater, film, and visual art. Their work stimulates the senses and invites visitors to perceive the world anew. Their performances and installations can be seen at national and international festivals.
