The musical start of every festival day

Every festival day, Neo-fanfare 9×13 heralds the start of VLOED in a theatrical and musical way with their performance: Parade. With a lively parade, they let everyone in Zandvoort know: VLOED has begun!
The parade starts at Raadhuisplein, in the center of town, and moves towards Badhuisplein. Along the way, the fanfare winds through the streets and the musicians surprise the audience with short performances in unexpected places. Along the way, the audience walks along, stops, or spontaneously joins in.
At the end of the route, a regional amateur orchestra of no fewer than 50 musicians will be waiting at Badhuisplein, ready to celebrate the start of the festival day together with 9×13.
9×13 plays with the boundary between backstage and frontstage, between preparation and performance, between expectation and reality. Parade is a theatrical fanfare that moves and surprises. A performance that does not break with tradition, but breaks it open. It turns the familiar upside down and invites the audience to look again and, above all, to join in.
Neo-fanfare 9×13 consists of 10 professional musicians who cast contemporary music in a theatrical light. The ensemble effortlessly plays new work from memory in a special setting, whether on the boulevard, in the middle of the city, or at a festival site, bringing this music to a wide audience.
Combine your visit to VLOED with a bite to eat and a drink at the food truck festival Wereldse Smaken.
