30 Apr VLOED with the whole family

At VLOED, there’s plenty to do for both kids and parents. Amid all the noise, laughter, and shouting, you’ll arrive at the Festival Heart on Badhuisplein. Your kids will be thrilled, because the Roar Race is about to start. For once, let your child scream their lungs out to win the Brulrace. The louder you scream, the faster the bike moves forward. Afterward, your child will receive their Brulrace certificate—making both you and your child happy.
Then take a look around the Festival Heart. You can listen to the Story Machine with tales about Zandvoort or read aloud in a beach chair at the Boulevard Library. Or join the Beachcombing & Crafting workshop, where you’ll help clean up the beach while the kids make beautiful keychains. Let your creativity flow and teach your children about pollution and how recycling can make the world a little better.
The Zandvoorts Museum is also a fun option to enjoy with the kids. The museum features an exhibition on 200 years of the seaside resort. For extra fun, the whole family can take part in the Kids Route starting from the museum. The children can help Rein the dune rabbit. Rein jumped through a time portal and ended up in present-day Zandvoort, 200 years later for him. He has lost his friends and can’t find his way because everything looks different. The Activity Booklet (€2.50 each) is full of little tasks, leading you past eight historic buildings and eight beautiful illustrations that tell Rein’s story.
After you’ve helped Rein, you’ll end up back at Badhuisplein. Then the Juttersmu-zee-um is the perfect activity. Admission to the museum is free, and you’ll find it at the beach entrance below Badhuisplein.
After a wonderful day, it’s time to head home. The kids are happily tired after all the excitement, and you look back on a successful afternoon. Zandvoort has never been so fun and educational.
