Dansroute Festival VLOED
Tijdens de Dansroute wandel je door het duingebied van Nieuw Unicum en laat je je onderweg verrassen door hedendaagse dans en verstilde momenten in de natuur.
De Dutch Don’t Dance Division
De dansroute wordt uitgevoerd door De Dutch Don’t Dance Division (DeDDDD), onder artistieke leiding van Thom Stuart. Het gezelschap wil ballet en hedendaagse dans toegankelijk maken voor iedereen en treedt bewust op buiten de traditionele theaterzaal: in wijken, op straat, in zorginstellingen en – zoals hier – midden in de natuur.

In In Sync onderzoeken twee dansers hoe lichamen zich tot elkaar verhouden. In minimale, precieze bewegingen ontstaat een bijna tastbare verbondenheid, gedragen door de verstilde schoonheid van Bach.

Uitvoering: Andreas Scholl & Accademia Bizantina
Een fysieke vertaling van kou, verstilling en weerstand. De ijle zang en barokke muziek contrasteren met krachtige, licht explosieve bewegingen. Coldsong raakt aan fragiliteit en overlevingsdrang.
ZandHagedissen
Concept: Thom Stuart
Dans / improvisatie: Ella‑Joy Boog, Edoardo Chirico, Jasey Harders, Hugo Rossi, Mabelle Westrik
In deze improvisatie smelten dansers samen met bomen, gras en duin. ZandHagedissen ontstaat in het moment: speels, alert en wendbaar, als een levend ecosysteem.

Een solowerk over adem, gewicht en uithoudingsvermogen. De danser lijkt los te komen van de grond, terwijl elke beweging tegelijk kracht en kwetsbaarheid toont.
Over Festival VLOED
Festival VLOED is een meerdaags cultureel festival in Zandvoort waar kunst, dans, muziek en theater door het dorp en de duinen stromen. Het festival brengt verhalen tot leven via routes en locatieprojecten en is een initiatief van Stichting BuitenCultuur. VLOED staat voor ontmoeting, toegankelijkheid en het verrassen van een breed publiek.

Locatie: Nieuw Unicum
De Dansroute vindt plaats bij Nieuw Unicum, een bijzondere plek aan de rand van de Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen. Nieuw Unicum is een woon- en zorglocatie voor mensen met een lichamelijke beperking, met een sterke verbinding met natuur, veerkracht en herstel. Tijdens Festival VLOED vormt het terrein het decor voor dans tussen bomen, helmgras en schelpenpaden.

During the Dance Route, you stroll through the dune area of Nieuw Unicum and be treated to contemporary dance performances and moments of tranquility in nature along the way.
The Dutch Don’t Dance Division
The Dance Route is presented by The Dutch Don’t Dance Division (DeDDDD), under the artistic direction of Thom Stuart. The company aims to make ballet and contemporary dance accessible to everyone and deliberately performs outside of traditional theater venues: in neighborhoods, on the street, in care facilities, and—as here—in the heart of nature.

In In Sync, two dancers explore how bodies relate to one another. Through minimal, precise movements, an almost tangible connection emerges, carried by the serene beauty of Bach.

In this improvisation, dancers merge with trees, grass, and dunes. SandLizards emerges in the moment: playful, alert, and agile, like a living ecosystem.

A solo piece about breath, weight, and endurance. The dancer seems to lift off the ground, while every movement simultaneously reveals strength and vulnerability.

The festival brings stories to life through routes and site-specific projects and is an initiative of the BuitenCultuur Foundation. The Dance Route takes place at Nieuw Unicum, a special place on the edge of the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen. Nieuw Unicum is a care and residential facility for people with physical disabilities, with a strong connection to nature, resilience, and recovery. During Festival VLOED, the grounds serve as the backdrop for dance among trees, marram grass, and shell-covered paths.

De Dutch Don’t Dance Division
Die Tanzroute wird von De Dutch Don’t Dance Division (DeDDDD) unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Thom Stuart aufgeführt. Das Ensemble möchte Ballett und zeitgenössischen Tanz für alle zugänglich machen und tritt bewusst außerhalb des traditionellen Theaters auf: in Stadtvierteln, auf der Straße, in Pflegeeinrichtungen und – wie hier – mitten in der Natur.

Nieuw Unicum ist eine Pflege- und Wohnstätte für Menschen mit körperlicher Behinderung, die eine starke Verbindung zu Natur, Resilienz und Genesung pflegt. Während des Festivals VLOED bildet das Gelände die Kulisse für Tanz zwischen Bäumen, Strandhafer und Muschelwegen.
