Walk through the dunes and be surprised along the way by three unique dance performances by De Dutch Don’t Dance Division. Among the marram grass and between the trees, the dancers become one with the dynamic environment. You will see choreographies created especially for VLOED.
During the route, you will also walk past Circuit II, a landscape artwork by John Körmeling that forms a natural transition between the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen and the Kennemerduinen.
Along the way, we will stop three times for a performance. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and let yourself be carried away by dancers, dunes, and the wind.
This route is accessible to everyone. The paths are paved, making them very suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. Questions? Send an email to: toegankelijkheid@festivalvloed.nl.
The dance route begins at Nieuw Unicum: a special place with a rich history in Zandvoort. Originally founded as a convalescent home for war victims, it has been located at its current prominent site since the 1970s. It has grown into a meaningful place in Zandvoort, closely connected to the dunes and the sea. Today, Nieuw Unicum is a place where living, care, and support come together, and where the focus is on what is possible despite limitations. It is a fitting setting for a dance route where care, resilience, nature, and contemporary dance intersect.
This company has one clear mission: to make ballet less elitist. They believe that dance should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age. That is why they take ballet outside the traditional ‘black box’ and perform in all kinds of locations: from nursing homes and primary schools to performances with Armin van Buuren and choreographies for 1,000 amateur dancers.
Combine your visit to VLOED with a bite to eat and a drink at the Wereldse Smaken food truck festival.
