VLOED for culture lovers

From the train, you can walk straight into the historic Station Hall. The Station Hall is open especially for the VLOED weekend. The hall is not normally open to travelers, so you definitely don’t want to miss this. The hall still retains its historic 1908 style. You’ll be enveloped by a unique soundscape that welcomes you to VLOED. Let yourself drift away with the sounds of the sea and the beach, accompanied by poetry.

On Stationsplein, an open-air exhibition of historic postcards takes you on a journey through the 200-year history of the seaside resort of Zandvoort. You can choose to rent a bike on Stationsplein to explore Zandvoort to the fullest, or take a leisurely stroll to take in every detail of Zandvoort.

You’ll discover a special spot in Zandvoort: Nieuw Unicum. The Dance Route takes you from the central hall of Nieuw Unicum through their secluded stretch of dune forest. As you walk, you’ll see three impressive performances by the Dutch Don’t Dance Division. Nature and dance come together as one.

Inspired by the Dance Route, you arrive at our Festival Heart on Badhuisplein. At the Boulevardbieb, you relax in a beach chair. You discuss the performances you’ve seen, browse the book collection, and pick out a good classic to enjoy in the sunshine.

You’ve had a chance to catch your breath, but you’ve also worked up an appetite. Then you head toward Gasthuisplein. Here, at the food festival Wereldse Smaken, you can enjoy a delicious bite to eat with music in the background from the vintage DJ Radio Barkas.

There’s always more culture to soak up, so you’ll take the Evening Route past three iconic locations. Stories of Zandvoort as a coastal town are brought to life through circus, music, film, and dance.

After a long day full of impressions, you might still feel like having a drink at Wereldse Smaken or head back to your accommodation or hotel to get some rest. Tomorrow is another day of VLOED!
